Andalas University

Andalas University is one of the Indonesian state university located in the city of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The University is the oldest university outside Java which was officially opened on December 23, 1955 by Vice President Mohammad Hatta. At that time, Unand is the fourth university that was established by the Government of Indonesia.

Andalas University consists of fifteen faculties, with most located in Limau Manis, about 12 km from the center of Padang. Rector of Andalas University today is Prof. Dr. Tafdil Husni, SE, MBA.

Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia in 2016 put Unand ranked the 11 best universities in Indonesia of the top 12 Universities in Indonesia (Cluster 1) or the first position on the island of Sumatra and the second position outside of Java.Moreover, Time Magazine in 2009 put Unand in ranked 14th or first position outside of Java in its analysis of the capacity of its alumni are absorbed by the business world.Webometrics Unand crowned as the 100 best universities in ASEAN (ranked 26) or ranked 8th in Indonesia (best outside Java) in January 2011.In 2014, Unand be accredited institution rated A and enter the cluster College Independently in the field of research.
